Dear Alan -- woohoo, delighted to know that you are heading for publication! Your memoire sounds terrific -- and Ellora's Cave seems an author's dream come true.
(You may recall that I was in India for several years in the 90s -- OMG sounds like ancient history now! Anyhow, there IS a real Ellora Cave in Maharashtra state, central India; it's got rock-cut temples from the early Buddhist period -- 2500 years ago -- and is every bit as fascinating as the more famous Petra pre-Roman cave complex in Jordan.)
I wish you great luck with the book -- your plan to do the promotion yourself is excellent, even if you've never done such work before. (Kind of reminds me of Anais's candidacy for the Green Party -- she learned politics as she went! Brava ragazza!! Say "hi" for me -- she is a terrific woman, and you're a damned lucky guy to be with her...)
